Mike was discovered by top record producer 'Joe Meek' (The Telstar Man) and with his first hit
"A Tribute To Buddy Holly", now a pop classic, became acknowledged as the 'British Buddy Holly'.
Its' Mike that Sir Paul McCartney invites every year to perform at his 'Buddy Holly Birthday Tribute'.
Mike appeared on the Tv debuts of both 'The Beatles' & 'The Rolling Stones ' also touring
with both bands.He also toured with Brenda Lee,The Four Seasons,Bobby Vee &
'The Crickets', often filling Buddy's shoes.
60's hits included "Don't you think it's time", "My little Baby" & "On my mind"...more chart success
followed in Europe with "Don't be cruel " and "I'm a Rocker ".
Switching to acting via some 50 TV commercials, Mike played ' Mr Peters' in the UK
episodes of the classic 'Worzel Gummidge' and was then cast as 'Mr Spooner' in the BBC
sitcom 'Are You being Served?' which was sreened worldwide, attaining cult status in the USA .
In 1998,Mike was asked to front 'The Crickets ' at the 'Eddie Cochran Memorial Concert'
to great acclaim and a year later, was honoured with the'British Academy of Songwriters,
Composers & Authors' ( BASCA ) 'Gold Badge Award' for achievements in music.
